What is AMP?

HomepageArticlesWeb designWhat is AMP?

Have you noticed the phrase lightning bolt right under some of your Google word search results? Dec. This is an indication that the listed web page is compatible with Google's AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) project. AMP is an abbreviation in English. The Turkish version is made as Accelerated Mobile Pages. AMP is a Google project and was developed for fast use of mobile pages.

Google AMP Speeds Up the Web
When visiting a new web page, there are many actions when loading content. Your browser loads the HTML page first and then gives you a list of other resources to load. A typical website has a lot to offer ads, track page statistics, make the page look nice (CSS), images, maybe one or two types of fonts, and JavaScript. Each of these requests takes time, especially if the resources have to come from a separate server. Loading each resource can be only a few October milliseconds, but loading files that are called in attachments extends this time.

A lot of time is spent loading your pages, usually users don't want to see much delay. However, even if you make certain sacrifices in order to ensure that the pages load faster, you have to compromise on the design quality. On many websites, design is not sacrificed. This is becoming a problem, especially on mobile devices. Even if you have a fast Internet connection, it may take a few seconds for such pages to load. Mobile connections, on the other hand, usually load more slowly than this.

This is where Google AMP comes in.

Google AMP creates its own inventory version of the page (limited to the fastest and fastest web technologies), rather than allowing websites to upload from the sources they want, from where they want. With the exception of a few pre-approved cases, publishers were prevented from using JavaScript, which was the main culprit in slow page loading. Web pages are also hosted on Google's servers, and these servers work faster.

For example, try loading a news site. If I load a regular site on any Android phone, I see a pop-up pop-up ad that pops up or a huge ad that requires me to scroll so that I can read the article (in general, ads are located at the top).

How Do You Know If You are on a Google AMP Page?
There are several ways to find out that you have not been sent directly to the original website, but to a Google AMP page. In Google Search, any AMP page has a small lightning bolts symbol and the word AMP next to it: In addition, after clicking on it, the URL bar will have a Google address October in place of the original website. You will see a bar on the screen with the original URL. Tapping the X takes you back to Google Search.

How to Switch to the Non-AMP Version of the Site?
There is no way to turn off Google AMP. If you visit an AMP-enabled site through a Google Search, you will be redirected to the AMP version. You can request your desktop site through your phone's browser to get to the main site instead of the copy hosted by Google. In Safari for iOS, long-press and hold the page refresh icon in the address bar and tap the Request Desktop Site button. In Google Chrome on Android, go to Menu and then check the Optional Desktop Site. On Windows and macOS, you won't see AMP results in Google Search; The AMP links you follow are automatically redirected to the main site. Also, you can redirect yourself to the main site by following any link on the web page. Google AMP only Decodes the first page you visit through Google Search. Others come directly from the main site.

Google AMP allows you to use the web a little faster. Many major publishers have enabled this feature. Thanks to this transition, their sites are viewed faster for readers and save them money on hosting.
